Today's Tri-State Area Update: Another East Coast Winter Storm Arrives!

It's fair to say the snow has begun to fall much earlier than anticipated. Remember me mentioning that this has been the toughest storm to forecast this winter so far? Well, things have not changed! Be safe on the roads!
WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING
Good morning! Time to Hammer Out the Weather!
TodayOur next winter storm in an extremely active start to this winter is upon us. And this one looks like it will pack a punch, just like many of the other winter storms Mother Nature has provided us with this winter. It also looks like this one will fall as mostly snow.
This MorningSnow continues. We'll have temperatures in the upper 20's to low 30's. We'll have a Northeast wind in place and it will begin to increase to around 10-15mph. Expect 3"-6" of snow from this first batch. Be safe out there!
This AfternoonWill have to continue to watch the radar. Depending on how this storm develops we'll either have snow/sleet this afternoon or a break in the action before the bigger part to this storm really gets going tonight.
As the storm gets stronger and more organized later this afternoon and evening, temperatures will begin to drop quickly and we will quickly change from any sleet back to snow. Then, it's all downhill from there!
TonightThis next storm will have its greatest impact overnight tonight - which has been a pattern of all the major snowstorms this winter, all having occurred during the nighttime hours. It will be windy and white with snow coming down very heavy. Near-blizzard conditions will be likely and I wouldn't be surprised to hear reports of "thundersnow", or thunder and lightning during heavy snow bands, overnight tonight during the most potent part of this storm.
TomorrowThe snow will be just about done with by your morning commute, but that doesn't mean the roads will be OK to drive in. So, like with any storm, please allow extra time to clear off and warm up the car and take it slow, especially on the back roads - they always tend to be the worst!
Snow tapers to flurries by 8am at the latest and then we'll end up with a partly sunny Thursday tomorrow with temperatures in the low to mid 30's. 
**Here's my latest call with snowfall totals. A lot has been changing. Here's my latest thoughts on totals by tomorrow morning. Depending on the storm track and duration of any sleet or light drizzle at the onset of the storm, I will adjust these totals later on. I will keep you updated throughout the day!**

There will be some melting tomorrow of any snow that falls overnight tonight, not a whole lot, but just enough to create concerns for black ice after any melted snow refreezes tomorrow night. 
FridayWe'll have mostly sunny skies with temperatures right around the freezing mark. Again, black ice will be a concern Friday night as well with overnight lows in the teens!
WeekendA weak area of low pressure moves across the tri-state area during the day on Saturday, providing us with snow showers and the shot at an additional couple of inches of snow this weekend. More on that tomorrow.
This winter just doesn't seem to want to let up! We will be breaking many winter records at this pace!
